Tracy Hill-Natural Frequencies /3rd try

19 June – 20 July 2025

Natural Frequencies is a solo exhibition by Tracy Hill, new site-responsive installations and works on paper invite a consideration of what lies beyond the visible. Vibrations and energy underpin and connect all matter and life on earth, a natural phenomenon that is continually occurring inside our bodies and on every natural and man-made surface, each emitting its own subtle frequency.

Intricate hand-cut, drawn and printed works on paper propose connections through deep time, the slow act of making acting as a rebellion against the urgency that defines our digital world. Through a process of walking, dowsing and field recording, natural energies are sought out and made visible through a restorative notion of curiosity and respect exploring how seeing and listening can be measured through quiet observation and stillness.

Hill’s trans-disciplinary practice explores the relationship between human beliefs and the evolution of digital technologies in art. By combining print, installation, and drawing, her work reimagines everyday landscapes, prompting viewers to engage with the intersection of digital and physical realms. Recent projects, funded by ACE and Heritage, such as Porosity and Carbon Synthesis, uncover the hidden energies that connect us to our environment. These initiatives link the land’s permeability with the human body’s porousness, merging art and science to transform our perceptions of landscapes and highlight the delicate relationships within living systems.
